Switch from electric radiators to underfloor heating

A smart investment

Replacing direct-acting electric radiators with waterborne underfloor heating represents a strategic investment with significant potential for heating cost savings. Underfloor heating also provides more even heat distribution, improves indoor climate, and can increase the value of the home.

Energy and Cost Efficiency

Direct-acting electric radiators are a relatively inefficient heating method, converting electrical energy to heat with an energy factor of 1:1. Waterborne underfloor heating is significantly more efficient, especially when combined with a heat pump, which can achieve an energy factor of up to 1:5. This makes waterborne underfloor heating much cheaper to operate than direct-acting electric radiators.

Hidden Installation

There is no need to position the heat source in front of windows, as underfloor heating is concealed within the floor. Visible piping on walls is unnecessary, and the underfloor heating manifolds can be hidden behind panels that blend seamlessly with the rest of the wall.

Low Profile

Today, there are several low-profile underfloor heating systems that can be installed throughout the house with minimal impact on floor height.

Improved Indoor Environment

The system reduces air movement, which can be particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies or asthma, contributing to a healthier indoor environment.

LK CombiBoard EPS 18/30/50/70

For floating floors with LK CombiBoard EPS 18/30/50/70

LK Floor Heating in design with LK CombiBoard EPS for laying on load-bearing floor constructions. The system consists of insulation boards of EPS class S300 equipped with a laminated heat distribution layer for optimal heat distribution.

LK CombiBoard EPS has high insulating properties as well as being excellent for short- or long-term loads.

The EPS boards are equipped with pipe channels and integrated turning channels.

  • For renovation and new-build
  • No loose plates
  • One board instead of two (integrated turns)
  • Suitable under all types of final flooring

LK Slotted Board EPS 16

On insulated load-bearing floors with LK Slotted Board EPS 16

LK Slotted Board EPS 16 is the solution for anyone who is renovating a room with restricted height. The insulated, pre-grooved panel is only 16 mm thick and is installed over existing floors.

The heating pipe loops are simply pushed into the panel grooves, which is entirely covered by a bonded aluminium plate; heat from the pipes is spread evenly across the entire floor surface, with little downward heat loss.

Load bearing flooring is then installed directly on top of the panel. If, for example, you decide to lay tiles over the floor heating installation, the total installation height is only 26 mm.

Product range >

  • Ideal for renovation
  • Cuts downward heat loss
  • Suitable under all types of final flooring
  • Low installation height: from 25 mm

LK Clip Rail 12

On insulated load-bearing floors with LK Clip Rail 12

LK Clip Rail 12 is designed for LK’s 12 mm pipes and is often used for the renovation of small areas, such as bathrooms, entrance halls and laundry rooms.

The clip rail has double-sided tape so that it can be easily fixed direct to the sub flooring. Once the pipes are positioned in the clip-rail, they are encapsulated in self-levelling screed or filler. Then, all that is left is installation of the final flooring.

  • For renovation
  • Suitable under all types of surface flooring
  • Ideal for small areas, such as bathrooms, entrance halls and laundry rooms
  • Low installation height: from 25 mm
